Shibli National College with its long and cherished record of dedicated
service to the cause of advancement of education in east U.P. has

Founded by the great and internationally acknowledged savant, Allama Shibli Nomani, as “National School” in 1883- even two years ahead of the birth of Indian National Congress when even the use of the word “National” was considered crime. The founder, Allama Shibli , was quite ahead of his time and has very aptly realized the need and value of modern education coupled with traditional and cultural ethos of muslims in India. National School from the modest beginning to its present stature has now fully blossomed into a radiating centre of higher education and learning, inspite of its muslim minority character. Shibli National College, Azamgarh, a muslim minority institution, is bubbling with a very strong feeling of “Nationalism” and therefore has its door open to all irrespective of caste, creed, religion, region and such other narrow and parochial considerations.
It is only due to the grace of Almighty ALLAH and the concerted efforts of successive principals and the staff vis-a-vis the patronage of the management. The College has been successful in achieving the hopes and aspirations of its great founder. The College aims at achieving large hearted tolerance, fraternity and brotherhood and concord among various communities, inculcating scientific temper and free thinking, and thereby shaping and moulding the students to become ideal citizens of the country. Shibli National College also offers various job oriented professional courses in different streams. We have a well equipped and state of computer science department where several diploma courses (certification jointly by National council for promotion of Urdu language NCPUL Ministry of HRD and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology NIELIT Ministry of Communication and IT Govt. Of India) are being offered. Shibli National College has got full accreditation with NIELIT for its “O” Level and CCC Courses. Shibli National College also offers different vocational courses through womens ITI in the streams of cutting, tailoring, embroidery, stitching etc. and hereby helping in women empowerment.
The institution also facilitates in spreading education through Distance Mode of learning. The College has study courses of Maulana Azad Foundation New Delhi and Rajarshi Tandon open University Allahabad through which various under graduate (UG) and Post graduate (PG) courses can be pursued.
Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi has been kind enough to acknowledge our institution as its study centre, where several technical and professional courses which suit the present day job profile are being offered.

The College offers facilities of masters degree and research leading to the award of Ph. D degree from VBS PU Jaunpur in the disciplines of Urdu, Hindi, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, English and Philosophy in the faculty of Arts, apart from master and research degrees in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany and Mathematics in the faculty of Science. The College also offers PG courses and research in the faculty of Commerce. ADMISSION
Admissions to various courses mentioned above are done on the basis of Objective Type Entrance Test conducted by the College as per the rules framed by the College Admission Committee. The College strictly adheres to the norms and guidelines issued by VBS PU, Jaunpur.DISCIPLINE
The Chief Proctor and the Proctorial team is responsible for maintaining discipline in the College. The HoD’s shall ensure orderly behaviour of the students in their respective departments. The College if of the firm and sound view that all round development of the personality is not possible without a disciplined and well regulated student life.RAGGING
Ragging in any form whatsoever, is totally prohibited in the College Campus and any student indulging in any form of ragging shall expose himself/herself to strict disciplinary action which may lead to his his/her name being struck off from the rolls of the College.
